Choose the right type

A fixed code or
a flexible destination?

A static QR code contains its destination directly. A dynamic code points to a managed link that redirects the visitor. That extra step makes it possible to change the destination and measure activity at the redirect.

Scan counts represent requests recorded by the redirect and are not a verified count of unique people. Link previews, automated requests and repeated scans can affect totals. Dynamic codes depend on the redirect service and domain remaining available.

Static QR Dynamic QR
Destination is encoded directly in the image. Image points to a managed redirect URL.
Changing the encoded destination requires a new image. Change the saved destination while retaining the QR image.
No managed redirect scan count. Total scans and daily trends for the managed link.
Suitable for information that should remain fixed. Useful for campaigns and content that may change.

Dynamic QR Codes FAQs

Can I change the destination after printing?

Yes, for a dynamic code. Edit the saved destination while keeping the same managed redirect link and QR image. The redirect service and its domain must remain available.

Can an existing static QR code become dynamic?

A code that already encodes a fixed destination cannot be changed inside the printed image. A new dynamic code must be created and used unless you already control the encoded URL and its behaviour.

What statistics are available?

The managed dynamic link records total scans and daily trends. These indicate requests to the redirect, rather than a verified number of unique visitors.

Do you store raw visitor IP addresses for statistics?

The scan statistics feature is designed to provide totals and daily trends without retaining visitors’ raw IP addresses.

Can I download a lost QR image again?

Yes. The management area can regenerate and download an image for an existing dynamic link.

Where can I use dynamic codes?

On suitable business cards, brochures, posters, packaging, presentations and other material. Test the final destination and the QR size and contrast before publishing or printing.

Who can change the destination?

Use the protected management area or private management link. Private editing links should only be shared with people authorised to maintain the code.

Are dynamic codes permanent?

They continue to depend on the managed redirect record, hosting and domain. We discuss continuity, ownership and support requirements when planning your setup.
